Miles was responsible for supervising and managing and environmental and social assessment of pumping stations involved in Phase 1 of the Manila Flood Control Project.

At 4000 meters above sea level in the Bolivian altiplano, Miles assessed the cumulative effects of geothermal power development in relation to mining, tourism, agriculture and impacts to sensitive environments.

Miles, Juan and Efrain Dominguez are a Panel of Experts evaluating the success of an innovative stream development project at the Cerrejon Mine in Colombia where natural drainage and ecological conditions are being recreated.

STRATEGIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT IN MONGOLIA

Miles led a team of three environmental and social specialists in a World Bank Project  to assess the use of the strategic environmental assessment tool (SESA) and environmental and social management framework (ESMF) in initiatives for REDD+ (Reducing emissions from deforestation and degradation)

Miles is providing assistance to the Government of Mongolia MINIS project to advise on aspects of regional strategic assessment and cumulative impact assessment relating to proposed mining, hydroelectric and water diversion projects
