Background:

NextStar Energy is developing and electric vehicle battery plant with a total capacity exceeding 33 GWh per year in Windsor, Ontario. An environmental and social due diligence assessment was required by project financiers.

Services Provided:

Ciera Group as a sub-consultant of RINA conducted an environmental and social due diligence (ESDD) to provide the lender debt financing group with a thorough analysis of the E&S risks and impacts during construction and operation. The ESDD was one in accordance with the Equator Principles.

Task includes:

• Documentation review.

• Site visit.

• Gap analysis against lender standards and international best practices.

• Preparation of an environmental social action plan to bring the project into compliance.
